Hip-hop, existentialism and fashion is on the streets all around us; the trends that define our times often emerge on the asphalt, in a recreation ground, or at the terrace of a café.

This season, Pierre Hardy’s collection is a tribute to the urban cultures, not necessarily with streetwear shoes, but through mutant ones, mixing codes and styles in constancy with the transformations in our lifestyles. True to his graphic perception, the Parisian designer fuses sports references with dress shoes and casual or outdoor styles.

His MC Hardy style in high tech knit, leather and neoprene is inspired by the energy of the New York B-Boys and the premises of the rap movement of the 80’s. The graceful movement of the skateboarders influence his sophisticated and revised belt bag to be worn over the shoulder. The brogues and the jodhpurs with slightly squared toes evoke David Bowie’s silhouette in the underground Berlin of the 70’s.

The runway collections celebrate change but street style remains synonym of authenticity and energy. These two words empower and imbody Pierre Hardy’s Winter 2019 collection.
